Project Breaking Free 4.0

Breaking Free 4.0 is a Community Drug Prevention and Rehabilitation Initiative designed to prevent substance abuse, raise awareness, and support rehabilitation. The project targets school minors to prevent early exposure, while also educating university students and the wider community through programs and campaigns. It empowers youth to make responsible decisions, reduces drug-related risks, and promotes social reintegration, contributing to a safer, healthier, and drug-free society.

Under this project, the Youth Development Avenue has planned several initiatives aimed at creating a positive social impact. As a first step, a group of university students is trained by ADIC Sri Lanka to become drug prevention leaders and counselors. This trained group then conducts school-based drug prevention programs, creating engaging learning environments to educate students on the harmful effects of drugs and how to prevent abuse, aiming to make a sustainable impact across multiple regions in Sri Lanka.

The project also targets youth groups, raising awareness on drug prevention and involving them in structured drug prevention learning programs. In addition, it supports individuals who require rehabilitation, guiding them through programs designed to create positive outcomes for both the participants and society.

To reach a wider audience, the project organizes social awareness activities such as knowledge-sharing and distribution of informative leaflets. Additionally, creative social media materials are developed to communicate drug prevention messages and influence public awareness on a broader scale.
