PROJECT DEFENDHER -RESEARCH PAPER

Public transportation is critical in constructing sustainable cities. Yet, the prevalence of female harassment within these systems poses substantial barriers to their accessibility and safety. Gender disparities exist in Sri Lanka, despite the macro-level progress toward gender equity, particularly in public transportation. Therefore, this study digs into the important topic of female harassment in the Western province, Sri Lanka, to raise awareness about its frequency and impact, as well as to explore solutions for empowering women to resist such experiences.
