The Wildlife and Animal Conservation Avenue is one of the main avenues of the Leo Club of University of Kelaniya, dedicated to safeguarding wildlife in Sri Lanka. Its conservation efforts are not limited to terrestrial wildlife but extend to marine ecosystems as well.
The avenue is committed to protecting plant and animal species along with their natural habitats, while actively mitigating the threats they face. It places a strong emphasis on raising awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation and implementing impactful projects that directly contribute to environmental sustainability.
Through its initiatives, the avenue continues to drive positive change in nature. Project NaCl + H2O, Project Husma and Project Prayama stand as some of the iconic projects launched during past Leo terms, reflecting its commitment to meaningful and sustainable conservation efforts.
